“Optimism” pop-up book
Hand-Made pop-up, made for the “Nature Awakens” exhibition at Illustration Week Tel-Aviv, 2020.
The exhibition was giving a stage for different illustrators and practitioners to visually interoperate the pandemic through the meetings of nature and city: how the lockdowns affected the city’s surrounding plants, animals, and the way nature reclaimed its place once the people were forced to stay out of it.
I created a hand-made pop-up spread. The cover presents a closed-windows, dull neighbourhood. Once the book is opened, the neighbourhood bursts with colour, characters, animals and plants, celebrating the opportunities of the city as a place for both nature and people to live harmonically together.
